JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a waiter for 25-30 hours per week.  We are an Iconic Mexican restaurant in St Kilda, famous for its perfect Margaritas, friendly casual atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. 

The applicant should know how to work at pace within a small professional team.   Our staff are encouraged to multi skill accross the front of house, so experience as a function waiter, a host or in the bar is advantageous.

We value customer service finesse and ability, so we are seeking the type of waiter who brings a positive attitude and works well within a team.

Our managers are committed to our lovely little venue and beleive in the importance of wellbeing within the team.  We beleive that investing time and energy into our team is the most important way to keep our workplace thriving.

Our workplace has a very positive, inclusive culture and we have thrived in 2022 with the same core team in place.  We like to think that our ability to maintain great staff for long periods reflects upon the positive culture of Radio Mexico and as a result are seeking just the right person to join our team.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Service

  • Maintain a good knowledge of the Radio Mexico food and beverage menus.
  • Receive and serve food orders within assigned section.
  • Clear down and reset tables within assigned section.
  • Prepare bills and process payments (cash, EFTPOS) for customers within assigned section.
  • Maintain an attitude of calm assertiveness during service.
  • Acknowledge regular customers and make them feel especially welcome.
  • Ensure section and customer facilities are clean and operate efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot service issues but refer complaints to the senior in a timely manner.

Knowledge & Skills

  • At least 1 year experience in a similarly busy restaurant/café, with good waiting experience and an ability to carry at least 3 plates.  POS and wine service preferred.
  • Ability to provide efficient, friendly, professional customer service in a busy, casual dining environment.
  • Good observation and listening skills.
  • A good communicator and multi-tasker, with good judgment, memory and problem solving ability.
  • Ability to work evenings and on weekends.
