JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a vibrant, energetic venue manager to fulfil a valuable role in the ongoing development of Australian Catering Services

Reporting to the Owner Operator, the role will encompass management of retail food and beverage outlets, cafe, on-site functions and event catering.

You will have oversight on all aspects of the operation of the business including:
- Staff rostering, hiring and management.
- Supplier liason and ordering
- Client liason, invoicing and quoting.
- Menu, service, and venue development and innovation
- Co-ordination of weekly promotions and special events.

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in managing staff
  • At least 5 years' experience in the events/hospitality industry.
  • Experience planning and delivering events with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A proven capability to work on various events at different stages of development at the same time
  • Tertiary qualification in business, event management, tourism or hospitality.
  • Experience with protocol procedures and a background in workplace health and safety would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience running events across a wide variety of formats.
  • Ability to work within allocated budgets is essential.
  • A responsible management of a licenced venue certificate (RMLV)
  • A thorough understanding of liquor licencing and responsible service of alcohol.
  • Ability to train and develop staff.
  • Proven strong leadership including previous staff supervision experience in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible roster including weekends subject to events calendar
  • Positive, enthusiastic and consultative approach
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Successful relationship building skills in the workplace
  • Demonstrated creative ability and advanced negotiation skills
  • Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office
