JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re seeking an experienced Sous Chef to work with our Head Chef in taking the reins in our brand-new kitchen. You will help to lead our kitchen team in smashing out delicious Tex-Mex & Americana inspired dishes. An emerging leader with experience in fast-paced, large kitchens, you will hustle to make Moon Dog Footscray one of the best places to work & eat in the West! The ideal candidate will have several years proven experience in similar roles (large, pumping, pub-like venues) and take great pride in what they do.

 

The role:

Reporting to the Head Chef you will manage the team and day to day operations of the Moon Dog Wild West kitchen.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef to create & execute your menu for lovers of Tex-Mex & Americana 
  • Ensuring all chefs maintain food hygiene safety standards
  • Administrative tasks including ordering and rostering and managing food costs
  • People management, supporting and training of the team

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum Certificate 3 Commercial Cookery
  • Well-developed communication and time management skills
  • A working knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures, including the training of colleagues in procedures
