Sous Chef

Start: ASAP Where: Woolloongabba, QLD Type: Full time Pay: $65-$75K

JOB DESCRIPTION

The QCC Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at our new venture with the QCC group.  We are a large part of all the major sporting events within Brisbane for decades. This is a startup role where you can make the kitchen and menu your own, whilst being well supported by the Groups Executive Chef.  This position has great potential to develop into a senior role within our organisation if you are looking for further growth.  As a full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the daily culinary operations, from menu development to kitchen management. This is a pivotal position that will play a crucial part in enhancing the dining experience for our guests and visitors.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop with head chef, an innovative menu that showcase your culinary expertise 

  • Support and mentor a small team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring consistent high-quality food preparation and service

  • Monitor food costs, inventory, and kitchen operations to maintain efficiency and profitability

  • Collaborate with the management team to identify opportunities for menu enhancements and special events

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchen

  • Foster a positive, productive, and collaborative work environment in the kitchen

 


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior culinary role, preferably within the hospitality, Hotel, pub or club industry

  • Help in creating and executing exceptional menus that cater to a wide range of dietary requirements and preferences

  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing kitchen team

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Thorough understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cost control practices

  • Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create mouth-watering dishes

  • Must have access to car and be able to drive
