JOB DESCRIPTION

Located on the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour, with unbeatable front row views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge & Opera House, Opera Bar is the go to for tourists, locals, corporates and families looking for a meal, a few cocktails after work or cracking live entertainment to dance the night away.

Opera Bar reflects the spirit of Sydney, relaxed and stylish with a sunny disposition. Freshness and seasonality infuse everything we do from our spritzy cocktails and crisp pale ales to our light and seasonal menu with a seafood focus. We’re also big believers in supporting local so you’ll see that reflected in our menus - in fact our still wine list is now 100% Aussie.

Our patrons come for the views & stay for the memories created at our iconic venue.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will be a valued member of our large brigade at Opera Bar, plating produce that heroes local suppliers.  Our menu showcases casual dining at its best, ranging from fresh sashimi and ocean to plate seafood to seasonal shares and mouth watering freshly cooked pizzas.

As Sous, you will work across a number of sections in our fast, well organised kitchen.  Whether you are a master of the grill, or quick and steady on larder section, we have something for everyone.  Sous Chefs will also be hands on in ordering, training junior chefs and ensuring quality across our incredible kitchen. This is a great opportunity to excel your Kitchen Management career and learn from some of the best.

Working in a large and spacious kitchen, with a supportive and highly experienced Head Chef at the helm, the kitchen runs like clockwork and is well organised.  Our work culture embraces work life balance and the team are passionate, friendly and work cohesively as a team. This is truly a fantastic place to work and an exciting time to join!

Located right next to Circular Quay train station, with ferries at your door step – getting here is a breeze!

Having worked in some of Sydney’s most bustling restaurants and pubs, you will be well equipped to join our incredible team.
