We’ve partnered with renowned Australia Chef, restauranteur, and television personality Shane Delia, whose bold and creative approach to Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine is redefining the dining experience in Brisbane at the Thomas Dixon Centre. 

Layla Brisbane marks the first venture north from Shane Delia, bringing with him a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences embedded in an inventive approach to spice. Celebrated for his bold, Middle Eastern flavours, Shane’s unique culinary vision and dedication to quality have made his flagship restaurant Maha a fixture of Melbourne’s dining scene for the past 17 years, and extends to his other beloved Melbourne venues Maha North, Maha East, and Jayda.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bartender
Sommelier

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Do you possess the following qualities and experience?

  • Experience in working in fine dining and/or hatted restaurant 
  • Passion for food and beverage and serving guests!
  • Excellent presentation and grooming
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Dedicated to always providing the highest of standards  
  • Exceptional communication skills 

     

The successful applicant should also have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Qualifications in Hospitality/ Certified Sommelier will be highly regarded

In addition to the above criteria, attention to detail, a customer focus, high levels of energy, willingness to work flexible hours across a 7 day roster and a positive ‘can do’ attitude, is what is required to successfully undertake this position.
