JOB DESCRIPTION

Saccharomyces Beer Cafe is a unique and exciting prospect. We run 17 craft beer taps - ranging through easy drinking, IPAs, dark beers, sours and ginger beer - that change after the keg is dry. We stock 60+ canned and bottled beers in our attached takeaway or drink-in bottleshop. All the beers we range are from independent breweries, from Australia or around the world. Sourced weekly, we look for the hype beers, the emerging breweries and the old favourites.

Who we are looking for right now is an experienced Duty Manager, experienced in all aspects of shift running:

- Basic to better beer, cocktail, wine and spirit knowledge

- Experience working with food (we do amazing Belgian inspired food!)

- Current RSA/RMLV with a good working knowledge of Queensland licensing laws

- Experience in cash handling, staff management, opening and closing a venue, customer service and satisfaction, conflict resolution & everything else you’ll have done in this role before.

We definitely need someone:

- that is physically fit and able to move stock autonomously (within load limits)

- has full working rights in Australia

- has full availability over a changing 7 day roster between 11am - 1am

- loves to work in an inclusive and diverse work environment

- Casual to start: 15-25 hours per week. More hours as are available/desired. Option of PT/FT for the future.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bar Manager

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a bar role is essential
  • RSA is essential, RMLV is desirable. A working knowledge of Licensing in Queensland would be great.
  • General knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
