JOB DESCRIPTION

We're on the hunt for passionate Sales & Events Manager to join the family at Hotel Esplanade!

Hotel Esplanade, colloquially referred to as “The Espy”, is one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues.  Sitting a stone’s throw from St Kilda’s bustling foreshore, generations of locals and tourists have flocked to the beloved pub in droves since the late 1800s.  Recently restored to its former grandeur and glory, The Espy proudly showcases a dynamic range of dining, drinking, music, art and cultural experiences.

From cocktail parties to corporate gatherings, workshops to weddings, intimate dinners to exclusive venue hire, at Hotel Esplanade, the options are endless.  With multiple levels and offerings, a broad range of impressive spaces, ongoing training and a team of industry leaders dedicated to bringing even the craziest of ideas to life, this is an epic opportunity to further your skills and progress your career.

Working closely with our sales and venue teams, our new Sales Manager will be responsible for the management of functions and events ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience from initial enquiry through to fruition, including but not limited to:

  • Building relationships;
  • Identifying and generating sales leads and business development opportunities to meet agreed sales KPIs;
  • Measuring and understanding sales leads;
  • Promoting function and event spaces through a wide range of channels including on-site sales calls, site visits, events, telephone and written communication;
  • Working closely with venue management to ensure achievement of functions and events sales targets;
  • Clear and timely internal and external communication;
  • Management of function software platforms; and
  • Invoicing and processing payments.

REQUIREMENTS

If you are a Sales & Events Manager with:

  • 2 years’ experience in sales;
  • 2 years’ experience in hospitality (preferred but not essential);
  • A confident, vibrant and empathetic personality;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Proven ability to meet KPIs;
  • The ability to excel under pressure and work to tight deadlines;
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills;
  • The ability to work both in a team and autonomously;
  • Experience using iVvy & OpenTable (preferred but not essential); and
  • A love of the hospitality industry, customer service and events,
