JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking interest for the role of RESTAURANT MANAGER for the newly established BIGGIE SMALLS by Shane Delia located in Terminal 3 at Melbourne Airport.

We require a passionate, experienced Manager ready for their next career challenge, who are reliable and ready take on this unique opportunity. 

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, successful candidates must be leaders with excellent communication skills, comfortable leading and inspiring young teams.

This is a unique and rare opportunity to work in a Shane Delia venue which rates No.1 on Australian Airports, recently nominated for various hospitality awards. Shane is best known as Chef and Owner of restaurants Maha, he is also a television presenter, host of his own TV shows Spice Journey and Recipe For Life.

BIGGIE SMALLS seats 120 patrons, with a full kitchen and large bar operation serving over 40 Gins, Craft Tap Beer and Cocktails. Staying true to his Middle Eastern trademark, Biggie Smalls is a ‘kebab mecca’ like nothing else the world has ever seen. An urban Melbourne offering now at the Airport

Authenticity and ‘keeping it real’ is what Biggie Smalls is founded on.

REQUIREMENTS

As an individual you will be:

  • A hands on, dynamic personality
  • Capable of working independently with general direction
  • Self-driven
  • An influential, proactive leader
  • Comfortable in managing young teams
  • Have strong availability 7 days a week from 5am until 9.30pm

The successful applicants will possess:

  • High presentation standards
  • An understanding of wage costs & cost of sales
  • Excellent communication skills with an approachable manner
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor team members
  • Ability and willingness to create a stable work environment for their team

Experience required:

  • We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, with strong communication skills who enjoys new challenges
  • Experience working in needs to include café / restaurant venue operations with coffee as a focus
  • The ability to ensure consistency of service quality throughout the venue
  • Experience in breakfast, lunch and dinner cuisines – airports are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner - 7 days a week, 365 days a year & rostering
