Wild Canary is an iconic botanical bistro nestled in the leafy western suburbs of Brisbane. Open seven days a week, we’re renowned for our vibrant breakfast and lunch service, and for hosting bespoke weddings and events throughout the year. With a passion for sustainability and local produce—including ingredients from our very own kitchen garden—we’re proud to work closely with regional farmers and growers.

Are you a highly creative Pastry Chef with a flair for crafting exquisite cakes and seasonal desserts? We're on the lookout for someone with a love of artistry, detail, and flavour to join our talented kitchen team. We are renowned for our cakes with beautiful floral confetti.

  • Exceptional cake baking and decorating skills with a keen eye for detail

  • Experience assembling layered and tiered cakes

  • Creativity in designing elegant cakes with edible florals and artistic finishes

  • Confidence with buttercream, ganache, glazes, and modern pastry techniques

  • Passion for fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to manage production in a high-volume café while preserving creative integrity

  • Excellent time management and ability to work independently and within a team
