JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for reliable and motivated Kitchen Hands to join our expanding team!

Kitchen Hands are responsible for assisting other kitchen staff like Cooks and Chefs. Primary duties include cleaning the kitchen and equipment, organising food and other items in the stockroom. Kitchen porters are responsible for washing dirty dishes, utensils, cooking equipment and bench areas, floors, and waste areas.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic working environment.
  2. Cleaning, sanitisation, stacking and maintenance of the kitchen area, equipment, cutlery, glasses, utensils, and crockery in accordance with company and health standards/regulations.
  3. Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling. Emptying bins, taking out garbage and ensuring waste area is free of rubbish.
  4. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitisation of the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas in accordance with health standards and regulations.
  5. Sweeping, mopping washing floors at the beginning, and ending of shifts including bin area.
  6. Packing and unpacking of the dishwasher, washing cookware pots and pans, utensils, and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

Food Safety Handling Certificate required.

 

Experience/skill level required

Minimum 1 years’ experience in commercial kitchen, or equivalent skills.

 

Aptitude & Interpersonal skills

  • Able to work well both within a team environment and autonomously.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues at all levels of the Company.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Committed towards undertaking duties efficiently with a strong attention to detail.
