JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a talented and passionate culinary professional looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills and be part of opening our new restaurant? We are seeking an experienced Japanese Sous Chef with a creative mindset and experience with Japanese cuisine to be part of our pre-opening team in our world class Japanese restaurant –Terasu.

The Role

As Sous Chef in one of our world class dining outlets, you will assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, your responsibilities will be training and mentoring the team on cooking techniques, food presentation and kitchen procedures and leading the team in the Head Chefs absence.

REQUIREMENTS

About You

  • Formal trade qualification in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in Japanese cuisine and menu creation.
  • Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and culinary trends.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to coach and mentor a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management ability to handle multiple priorities effectively including coordinating with the Front of House staff. 
  • Keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually appealing and delicious dishes.
  • A working understanding of and ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP.
