JOB DESCRIPTION

40 hour a fortnight permanent contracts to work in our IKEA Food team!

40 hours a fortnight is a minimum contract, however additonal shifts can be taken should it be available and your availability suits.

We a re currently hiring for Kitchen Operations. As an IKEA Food coworker you may be required to work in all areas of  the Food department : 

  • Kitchen Operations 
  • Customer Restaurant
  • Bistro
  • Potwash/Dishwash

The base hourly rate starts from $24.93 per hour. Plus penalty rates for evenings, weekends and public holidays. 

 

WHO YOU ARE


You love serving Customers! As an IKEA Food Co-worker, you demonstrate passion, love and commitment to food, its quality and presentation. You have experience working in fast paced, hands-on environments and are enthusiastic about working with others in a team. You have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a polite and friendly manner. As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES


As an IKEA Food Co-worker your responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with Food standards by keeping it clean, organised,attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience.
• Food preparation, cooking and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods.
• Active selling, cash handling, customer service, food preparation and cooking.

•Maintaining the washing up area and machines whilst supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the customer restaurant. Pot wash where you are responsible for washing,  cleaning of commercial cooking pots, utensils & equipment.

A key role of the IKEA Food Team is to serve our customers ensuring they have a positive experience in our store to give our visitors a taste reason to return. Together we strive to deliver a prime dining experience for the customer shopping journey and ensure our shoppers and their stomachs are truly satisfied.

REQUIREMENTS

Please note, permanent working rights required for this position.

As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month.

  • Operational hours from 8am-10pm Mon-Sun
  • We require full availability for Weekends Saturday and Sunday.
  • We require 150% availability to your fortnightly contract of 40 hours (60 hours a fortnight worth of availability)
  • Food experience preferred by not required.
  • Passion for IKEA and food!
