JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview: We are currently hiring a Pizza Chef who shares our dedication to culinary innovation and guest satisfaction. As a key team member, you can showcase your skills in our kitchen environment. From curating new and exciting pizzas to selecting local & and international cheese & charcuterie. You will also need the ability to work effectively & autonomously due to our small team.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient processes.

  • Train and mentor cooks and junior kitchen staff, fostering their professional growth.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness in the kitchen area.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations, leading by example.

2. Menu Development and Food Quality:

  • Contribute to the development of menus, incorporating new ideas and creative concepts.
  • Take pride in food presentation, always striving for top quality and appealing dishes.
  • Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist in designing and menu planning for large catering orders.

3. Team Management:

  • Collaborate with the management team to plan and schedule kitchen staff rosters effectively.
  • Manage kitchen hands and salad hands, ensuring food preparation meets high standards.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and support among the kitchen staff.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, promoting open and clear lines of communication.

4. Ordering and Cost Control:

  • Take responsibility for ordering dry food, vegetables, and cool room food such as meat, poultry, and fish.
  • Maintain food costs within the specified key performance indicator (KPI) range on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a high-volume, upscale dining environment, preferably with past experience with pizza 
  • Creative flair with a passion for culinary trends and innovation
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety
