JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to the imminent retirement of our long-serving caterer, an exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a freelance caterer to join us in a partnership that supports the club’s future ambitions of being the best and most respected club in the area.

The clubs restaurant / function room comfortably seats 80 people. Food is currently served 4/5 evenings a week for members and their guests. The club also hosts many private functions including, parties, club entertainment evenings, rotary lunches, and funeral wakes.

The clubs committee are seeking EOI from experienced contract caterers and our expectations for suitable applicants include (but are not limited to): 

  • Provide quality meals at competitive prices that appeal to members and visitors.
  • Review and update menus consistently with seasons and customer requests
  • Provision of consistent, outstanding customer service. 
  • Experienced and well-trained staff in all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and service. 
  • Maintaining exceptional levels of cleanliness. 
  • Be fully conversant with relevant legislation relating to licensing, food service, hygiene, and employment conditions, including WHS compliance and insurance. 

You will be expected to provide leadership, coordinate and support staff and create a secure and safe working environment across the venue.

In this environment you will achieve success by consulting with stakeholders on a regular basis while tenaciously driving food quality and performance delivery.

The club is prepared to negotiate an attractive annual occupation/service fee and your thoughts on what this arrangement may look like are welcomed.


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Catering Supervisor

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in the catering industry
  • Plan & create menus and weekly specials
  • Taking responsibility for the food production with a hands-on approach
  • Building positive relationships with staff
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety & food safety standards
  • Identify, develop and maintain establishment policies and procedures
  • Impart knowledge, skills and training to all kitchen staff
  • Keep food & labour costs to establishment requirements
  • Join and be an active part of the management meeting

The next stage of the interview process will require an EOI with the following information:

  • A cover letter explaining your reasons for applying for the contract. 
  • Details of past and current catering experiences, including references. 
  • Details of appropriate qualifications, including RSA & Food Handling Certificate. 
  • Samples of bar and food concepts including menus and pricing and including Function Menus.
