JOB DESCRIPTION

The Tourist Hotel Narrabri—a beloved spot known for its great food, welcoming atmosphere, and vibrant local community—is searching for a person to take on the role of Head Chef.

The Tourist Hotel is the premier venue in Narrabri and is known for deliverying elevated bistro pub dining.A beautifully renovated Art Deco Pub, we are looking to maintain our reputation with exceptional food. With goals to become NSW best Country Pub.  

You will be expected to provide leadership, coordinate and support staff and create a secure and safe working environment across the venue.

Salary starting at $100,000 + accommodation covered. 

Relocation costs negotioable for the right applicant.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Head Chef

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 + years experience as Head Chef
  • Hands on Head Chef
  • Coordinating the activities of the Kitchen, monitoring efficiency and quality of services and compliance with standards.
  • Monitoring the Kitchen budget and finances with the aim of achieving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implementing sales and marketing strategies.
  • Maintaining relations with suppliers.
  • Looking after administrative matters and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Responding to customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a Stock Inventory System with All stock reports sent daily/weekly and monthly.
  • Conduct and Maintain a Stock Report.
  • Conduct and Maintain the Cooking the Books reporting System
  • Ensure all stock invoices are received and entered in an accurate and timely manner
  • Coordinate seasonal Menu design and pricing.
  • Maintaining Staff Rosters ensuring adequate staffing levels, approving staff hours worked at the end of shifts to ensure timely and accurate payment of staff.
  • Ensure the kitchen is adequately equipped and all operational supplies are ordered and stored.
  • Adhere and ensure staff are maintaining appropriate standards of food safety
  • Maintaining the Cool Room and Stock Rotation
  • Kitchen Maintenance and Cleanliness
