JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone to head up a new project in the kitchen here at Cane & Grain - a venue across 3 floors in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

 

Focussing on smoked meats and sides using fresh produce - food is served 7 days a week between midday and 9pm. The venue has recently undergone a kitchen upgrade/improvement and are looking for someone suitable to push the venues food offering forward.

 

The candidate will have a heavy involvement in writing menus, creating specials and training all members of the team. Along with being a senior member of the venues management team.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred. An understanding of stocks, costings and managing supplier relationships is also desirable. Responsibilities will also include creating rotas and working towards forecasts agreed with management as well as :

 

 

  • Team management skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work 
  • Positive and approachable manner
  • Team player qualities
  • Experience in Pit mastery or working with smoked meats not essential but highly desirable
