JOB DESCRIPTION

Gather & Graze 4053 is on the hunt for an experienced Chef and Kitchen Leader to join our team. 

The Venue

Located in Everton Hills (Brisbane Northisde), Gather and Graze is an exciting new cafe venue. 

The position of Chef will include the following duties.

  • Cooking food as per our menu.
  • Cooking seasonal food, special orders and capable of cooking as per dietary requirements.
  • Working with Owners and Venue Manager to create and develop new menus / ideas.
  • Ensuring food safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Effective stock control and inventory 
  • Identify, develop and maintain establishment policies and procedures

The successful applicant must have the following.

  • Expereince in a fast paced cafe environment
  • A desire to help with attracting, developing, and retaining high performing staff
  • Impart knowledge, skills and training to all kitchen staff
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety & food safety standards
  • Controlling and managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including the rostering, stock control and supervision of staff
  • Ensure a clean and hygienic workplace by regular maintenance and cleaning of cooking facilities

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and other requirements.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in the hospitality industry as a chef 
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of team and provide leadership within a small team.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and experience with diagnostics
  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with flexible hours including weekends.
