JOB DESCRIPTION

The Black Opal is a highly successful gaming room located in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this intimate gaming room offers our patrons a central location, a professional service, and a safe and comfortable environment. 

It also forms part of The Pullman Melbourne on Swanston and Mercure Welcome Melbourne.

We are currently searching for a talented individual to join our friendly team as a Permanent Part Time Gaming Attendant. This position will involve both morning and night shifts, therefore flexible availability is essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring gaming functions for the venue;
  • Maintaining compliance and responsible gaming practices;
  • Day to day operations of busy gaming sections including responsibility for strong room monies;
  • Delivering exceptional customer service to all patrons;
  • Ensuring all operating equipment is in good working order; 
  • Ensuring that all cash handling procedures are adhered to.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 1 year's previous experience in a gaming environment
  • Customer focused
  • Highly organized
  • Cash handling skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • Responsible Service of Gaming certificate
  • Police Check (within 12 months) or willingness to obtain one 
  • Gaming License (Casino licenses are not applicable to this venue)

The successful candidate will be flexible and available to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays. A police check will be required for this role.
