JOB DESCRIPTION

IRIS Hotel Group spans multiple, well known, large turnover venues within the Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley, with a variety of dining and entertainment offerings.

THE IVANHOE HOTEL, a much-loved local pub, is located in the heart of The Corso in Manly, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.  Offering a refreshing, timeless and sophisticated setting, The Ivanhoe Hotel has a strong emphasis on food, quality and produce. Behind the magnificent heritage facade, The Ivanhoe Hotel’s interiors channel a Hamptons-inspired coastal beach vibe, while retaining the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of Manly and a local pub.

Your responsibilities as a Functions Coordinator will include helping formulate and coordinate large group bookings and special events. Assisting Duty Managers in operations and compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Helping maintain good relationships with staff and building great team morale.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years experience in a functions role preferable
  • Experience in a restaurant setting as well as large functions
  • Understands the importance of sequence of service, consistency and ambiance in a venue
  • A high standard of customer service skills
  • Dedicated to motivate, mentor and train staff
  • Possess excellent leadership and team player qualities
  • Exceptional time management 
  • Work well under pressure
  • Availability to work weekends / nights where appropriate
  • Have a passion for hospitality
