About the role

As the Grand View's Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day hotel operations and the seamless planning and execution of various events, including private, corporate functions and weddings. You will liaise regularly with the General Manager regarding operational objectives, purposes and achievements and be visible to the team, leading by example and setting the pace.

You will be committed to delivering a unique and extraordinary customer experience in every interaction. As a highly skilled and strategic leader, you will be able to effectively lead a team and manage operations.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to make quick decisions and think outside the box. This is a hands on role that requires clear and direct leadership to successfully coordinate all core aspects of hotel operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and oversee the day to day execution of hotel and events operations.
  • Work with the team to plan and execute events to the highest standards.
  • Liaise closely with the Head Chef in relation to the quality and presentation of food.
  • Ensure all venues are maintained in appearance, safety and cleanliness.
  • Ensure all venues are well equipped and set up according to client requirements.
  • Execute each function in accordance with the details provided in the running sheet.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of customer service standards.
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure staffing levels meet business demands.
  • Order stock and ensure stock checks are regularly completed.
  • Provide daily and monthly reports in a timely manner.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Duty Manager
Operations Manager

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Skills and experience

 

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Duty Manager or Operations Manager at a similar venue.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification.
  • Responsible Service of Gaming qualification.
  • Current RMLV certificate and Approved Manager License.
  • Understanding of food safety and WH&S compliance.
