JOB DESCRIPTION

Swiftly gaining a loyal crowd sitting atop a grassy knoll in Lilyfield is The Local Press café and coffee house on Balmain Road. A waft of rich aromas released from a roasting house blend of 3 specialty beans from Colombia, Ethiopia and Sumatra among single origin coffees rotated weekly see coffee lovers in paradise, dining amid stylish adornments and quaint décor in a child and pet-friendly setting with a lively ambience. Simple and seasonal dishes showcase locally sourced produce with a gourmet twist on classic favourites, all artfully plated to please the eye and tease the tastebuds. Delve into a delectable plate of house made Crumpets topped with natural yoghurt, berry compote and crystalised ginger or a more oyster mushroom salad, asparagus, kipfler potato, ricotta and mesclun leaves.

Harry and the Team are looking to expand the staff and add to the local family for our Spring opening of nights

We require a cook to be part of our kitchen staff and join our team.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
  • Passion for finer presentation, diligent plating and culinary excellence
  • The ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate and work as part of the team
  • Possess a strong work ethic and have excellent communication skills
  • Can produce consistent quality
  • Have a positive and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Have a keen eye with high attention to detail
  • Would like to assist with menu planning and suggestions
  • Enjoy the benefits of expanding your experience and knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure
