JOB DESCRIPTION

The team behind NEW QUARTER, HANOI HANNAH, TOKYO TINA and FIREBIRD have just opened up a BRAND NEW Chinese Bistro inside the ICONIC Illona Staller building, smack bang in the beating heart of Balaclava and we are on the hunt for another Full-Time Commis to join the team!

We are specifically after an individual who is looking for part-time hours and will work along side our chef in our new Private Dining Room above Moonhouse's main dining room in Balaclava! 

The private dining space can hold functions of up to 50 pax capapes and 40 pax sit down dinners, set with its own menu, exclusive bar and Mod-Chinese Bistro vibes! (Lazy Susans provided on request)

 

The kitchen team has some serious cred. Executive chef Anthony Choi is ex-Cumulus Inc, head chef Shirley Summakwan cut her teeth at Tokyo Tina and Hanoi Hannah Volume II and group pastry chef Enza Soto has Brae on her CV.

Candidates must have a Diploma or a Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or the experience equivalent) and at least one year, full time work experience in a commercial kitchen. (Asian cuisine highly regarded and event expeience, but not nesscary as full training provided)

REQUIREMENTS

// Have experience in the wok section or drive to learn! 

// A positive and inclusive personality towards both your kitchen team and fron of house team. 

// Excellent communication

// The strive to grow and learn - as we have some pretty amazing chefs who want to teach!! 

// A knowledge of Asian Cuisine of Asian flavours
