JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re on the hunt for Commis Chefs and Chefs de Partie at Tippy-Tay to join our vivacious new Italian restaurant, Tippy-Tay. 

Positioned in the cosmopolitan heart of Flinders Lane, amongst some of the most infamous laneways and innovative restaurants in the country, sits Garden State Hotel; and within this botanical oasis shines a yellow framed doorway to an Italian playground.  With a fusion of bold and bright colours, walls lined with over 3000 vintage glass bottles, negroni fountains, mismatched plates and not a white tablecloth in sight, Tippy-Tay is bringing European summer to the heart of our city.

The Tippy-Tay experience is one of vibrance, abundance and frivolity.  Leave the rules at the door and give in to the soul of an Italian dinner party – the theatre, the mess and the celebration.

REQUIREMENTS

So, if you are a Chef who has:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A love of great food
  • Confidence leading and managing an efficient team
  • Understanding of control measures, COGS, and KPI's
  • A passion for developing staff
  • Experience in developing creative menus
  • Understanding of computer-based stock management systems an advantage but not necessary
  • And, of course, relevant experience making Italian cuisine,
