Join the Yana Coogee Team as a Cocktail Bartender!

Hi Everyone,

Yana Coogee, located on vibrant Coogee Bay Road and just steps from the beach, is seeking two experienced cocktail bartenders to join our team for the summer season!

Our restaurant offers a stunning beachfront atmosphere, featuring modern Australian cuisine prepared over an open fire and complemented by a beautifully curated cocktail menu.

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Have at least 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced bar or restaurant environment.
  • Possess excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and mixology techniques.
  • Have strong multitasking and time management skills under pressure.
  • Can provide outstanding customer service and ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Are reliable, punctual, and professional in their work ethic.
  • Hold a valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification.
  • Are passionate about hospitality and have an eye for detail when it comes to presentation and cleanliness.
  • Can work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Legal Requirements:

  • Minimum Age: You must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol in Australia.

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate: This certification is mandatory nationwide and ensures you understand responsible alcohol service practices. Each state and territory may have specific requirements, so ensure your RSA certification aligns with the state where you intend to work.

  • 2. Educational Qualifications:

  • Secondary Education: Completing Year 12 with proficiency in English and Mathematics is beneficial.

  • Hospitality Courses: While not always mandatory, obtaining qualifications like a Certificate II or III in Hospitality can enhance your knowledge and employability.

3. Skills Development:

  • Mixology and Beverage Knowledge: Gain a deep understanding of various spirits, liqueurs, beers, and wines. Mastering classic and contemporary cocktail recipes is essential.

  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Physical Stamina: Bartending often requires long hours on your feet and the ability to handle busy periods efficiently.

  • Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring ingredients and presenting drinks enhances the quality of service.

4. Practical Experience:

  • Entry-Level Positions: Starting as a barback or server can provide valuable industry experience and foundational skills.
