JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare and cook foods of all types as per menu and events
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with licenses and standards.
  • Instruct kitchen workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food. Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Monitor hygiene practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations as per HACCP
  • All food and other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation to be passed on to Café Manager for ordering.
  • Check the quantity and quality of received products.
  • Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays with Café Manager
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to meet standards

Must be able to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Potential for full time fixed term contract  for the right person.

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar position
  • Flexible multitasking skills
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • The ability to work on a rostered shift basis and able to cover shifts when needed
  • A team player
  • Cert 3 in cooking minium
  • Empathy and the will to help others
