JOB DESCRIPTION

Saint Kilda Beach Hotel is a modern and contemporary hotel in the popular St Kilda area in Melbourne. Just steps away from the iconic St Kilda beach, this Melbourne accommodation is perfectly situated for you to explore all that this vibrant local neighbourhood has to offer, complete with a beach town feel and all the features and amenities that come with a boutique Melbourne hotel.

 

About you

As an experienced qualified Hotel Chef, you will relish the opportunity to show off your talents as you work with the team and contribute to our modern a la carte, functions and grazing menus.

The hotel operates a cafe daily for breakfast and lunch and a wine bar with dining menu over the weekends

 

You may be available at short notice to pick up additional shifts

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintaining established recipes and food standards;
  • Working with the team to ensure foods standards are of the highest quality;
  • Ensuring there are adequate levels for service;
  • Cooking for a Cafe la carte, buffet, room service and functions;
  • Assist other sections if they require help;
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment;
  • Flexible approach in adapting to guest requests;
  • Liaise with Food and Beverage Attendants;
  • Stock Ordering
  • Maintaining Food Safety Program

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in upmarket modern food;
  • Appropriate trade qualification;
  • Previous experience as a Demi Chef or within a kitchen;
  • Previous experience working in a cafe;
  • Works well within a team;
  • Quick and consistent with demonstrated ability to multi-task;
  • Passionate and creative as you constantly keep up to date with market trends;
  • Must have Australian working rights;
  • Flexible availability including evenings.

This role is heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the outlets, so a flexible approach to work hours will be required.
