We are currently seeking Casual Cleaners to join our Brisbane Showgrounds and Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) teams for upcoming events. Our events business is picking up quickly in the post-COVID environment, providing great opportunities for a variety of hours. All applicants must have a pro-active attitude and an eye for detail, 6 months cleaning experience is preferred though not essential. Candidates must have flexible availability with hours varying due to the nature of events. Full training will be provided for keen and enthusiastic team players.

The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) owns and operates the historic Brisbane Showgrounds precinct, home to the iconic Royal Queensland Show and more than 300 events a year. The 22-hectare precinct, just 1.5kms from the CBD attracts a million visitors a year and is the state’s largest indoor / outdoor events space featuring the vibrant King Street dining precinct and the five-star Royal International Convention Centre.

Key responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain all designated Front of House and Public areas, along with the back of house areas to the RICC standards using appropriated products and techniques.
• Provide a complete cleaning service including vacuuming, dusting, wiping, washing, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• Complete any unexpected cleaning or additional cleaning (for example carpet and upholstery in absence of the carpet cleaner).
• Manage stock and products within the Cleaning Department.
• Ensure cleaning is completed with particular attention to furniture and fixtures, steel work, mirrors and glass, curtains and drapes, floors, walls and ceilings, lamps, and light fittings.
• Liaise with both internal and external clients to provide services as requested.
• Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety guidelines and manufacturer’s specifications regarding storage and handling of chemicals and use of equipment.
• Report any problems or faults with cleaning equipment to Cleaning Supervisor.
• Be aware of and actively support the Company’s “Vision, Mission, and Value Statement”.
• Maintain company standards of dress and appearance.
• Understand and adhere to the employee handbook and all workplace policies.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
