Café Supervisor / Duty Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Role: Are you ready to soar and keep our café running as smoothly as a well-brewed espresso? We're looking for a dynamic Café Supervisor / Duty Manager to join our team at South Bank TAFE Axis Café. If you thrive in a bustling environment and have a knack for making every customer, feel like a VIP, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening and Closing the Café: Like the sunrise and sunset, you'll ensure the café opens and closes seamlessly.
    • Follow standard operating procedures to open and close the café.
    • Set up the POS system at the start of the day.
    • Compile cash takings and complete the cash-out procedure for the POS system at the end of the day.
    • Arrange all outdoor furniture and signage as per site requirements.
  • Daily Operations: Keep the café humming with efficiency and charm.
    • Manage food and beverage services.
    • Supervise staff and maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
    • Provide excellent customer service and resolve complaints efficiently.
    • Liaise with suppliers and oversee event support.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Presentation Standards: Ensure our products and venue look as inviting as a perfectly plated dish.
  • Service Wait Times: Keep café service wait times under 8 minutes – because nobody likes to wait!
  • Cost Management: Minimize food costs and wastage – every crumb counts.
  • Team Leadership: Foster team productivity and lead with a smile.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • Experience in café or food service management.
  • Experienced barista with 1-2 years of experience min
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for customer service.
  • Reports to onsite venue manager.
