JOB DESCRIPTION

The Glenelg Public House in Mermaid Beach is currently seeking an experienced and driven Bartender to join our team.

We are a busy restaurant with a focus on quality steaks, boutique wines and craft beers. Needless to say, we require cocktails and a bartender to match. 

High end food and professional service is what we are passionate about, as well as sharing this with the greater community through our food, drinks and service.  We will promote and support your learning in this area through many opportunities.
 
You will have prior experience in a busy restaurant environment and be confident in delivering exceptional bar service with a relaxed, casual flair. You must have strong communication skills, exceptional time management and professional presentation.

About you: 

  • You love beer, wine, spirits and cocktails
  • You enjoy working in the bar and serving guests 
  • You're available Wednesday to Sunday nights 
  • You're looking for a bar to make your own 

About the role: 

  • Running our small restaurant bar 
  • 5 nights and some lunch shifts available
  • 20-35 hours per week, every week!
  • Must be prepared to work in a busy cocktail section, make coffees as well as pouring beer and wine 
  • Provide customer service for guests dining at the bar

Located on the corner of Glenelg Avenue and Gold Coast Highway, soak up the sun at alfresco picnic tables or wander inside where a trendy industrial fit out of polished concrete, worn brick and the warm glow of pendent globes, creates a chilled-out vibe ideal for the GC lifestyle. With a steak-focused menu using the world's best beef grown right in their own backyard, share a main such as whole flat iron 500 g Angus-Holstein, marinated in chilli, garlic, parsley and lemon, with mixed leaves and fries. Those with lighter tastes may opt for pan roasted gnocchi, truffled cream, mushrooms and pecorino, or southern fried chicken wings and blue cheese.
