JOB DESCRIPTION

The Bar Manager is responsible for supporting the Venue Manager & Assistant Venue Manager in the bar operations of the venue helping to ensure a successful and profitable business and maintain a positive, fun, and strong bond between the team.

The Bar Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:

1.⁠ ⁠Overseeing the overall operations of the bar, including staff management, inventory control, and customer service.

2.⁠ ⁠Develop and implement strategies to increase bar revenue and profitability.

3.⁠ ⁠Training and supervising bar staff to ensure high-quality service and adherence to all Watson’s EQ house policies.

4.⁠ ⁠Maintain a safe and clean environment for both customers and staff, following all health and safety regulations.

5.⁠ ⁠Managing bar inventory, cellar cleanliness and inventory, and controlling costs to meet budgetary goals.

6.⁠ ⁠Creating and executing bar related promotional events and marketing initiatives to attract customers and enhance the bar's reputation in conjunction with Watson’s EQ marketing manager.

7. Responsible for curating beverage menu and on-going weekly cocktail or beer specials at Watson’s.

8. Assist venue manager and assistant Venue manager in daily operational tasks and opening and closing procedures.

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

A successful applicant for the Bar Manager position will demonstrate:

• experience in high volume, busy pub environment preferred

• experience in leading a bar team

• strong leadership & people management skills

• hold a valid NSW RSA

• ability to handle pressure and think on your feet in a fast-paced work environment

• conflict resolution skills

• initiative on quieter days to ensure high productivity in staff.

• self-motivated and customer-focused.

• ability to work autonomously.

• flexible schedule availability in accordance with business needs (weekends, public holidays, on-call etc.).

Preferred experience:

• you have previous experience working with Mr Yum, Cooking The Books or Square systems
