We're looking for a superstar Bar Attendant to join our flagship hostel located in the heart of the Harbour!

YHA Sydney Harbour is currently seeking a Bar Attendant to join the team on a casual basis. The Bar Attendant is responsible for ensuring the rooftop bar runs smoothly by assisting wherever required. Bar Attendant interact with people regularly, so a friendly positive attitude, and strong customer service skills are paramount.
 
Day-to-day duties include:

  • Preparing/serving of food and drinks including taking orders.
  • Operating a point-of-sale terminal and EFTPOS machine plus cash handling.
  • Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Cleaning duties including cleaning coffee machines and equipment.
  • Refilling drink fridges and snacks.
  • Maintaining service area to food safety standards
  • Support of the Café Team with a “can do” attitude

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience as a bar attendant within a fast paced, premium establishment (min 2 years)
  • High volume experience being able to work on multiple orders at once
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Good at cash handling and multi-tasking in general
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification
  • Outgoing personality and genuine interest in the day-to-day operations
  • Excellent attention to detail & ability to follow instructions
  • Exceptional presentation and grooming
  • Flexible availability 24/7 roster including weekends and public holidays
