Assistant Venue Manager - Studio Amaro

Start: ASAP Where: Windsor, VIC Type: Full time Pay: $31.70 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

Studio Amaro is looking for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to come and join our passionate team in 2025 and beyond!

A brand new, exciting and rare opportunity has landed for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to join our team. Whilst we usually value internal promotion, we are excited to announce the senior position at Studio Amaro is up for an experienced manager to take on.

Be part of a top performing restaurant on Chapel Street in Windsor and part of Commune Group (Hanoi Hannah, Moonhouse, Firebird, New Quarter, Tokyo Tina).

The assistant venue manager role on offer presents an excellent opportunity for a seasoned manager to join us and help spearhead the venue to the next level. Working closely with the venue manager and head chef, you will be responsible for support and managing the venue & FoH team ensuring absolute world class guest experience.  This is a hands-on role which requires effortless leadership and strong organisational skills.

Key Purpose

  • Create a highly engaged and positive Commune Culture 
  • Run the business independently 
  • Develop future managers (Clear training programs for all staff) 
  • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment 


Assessment Criteria

  • Effectively manage the venue and its employees, Monday through Sunday.
  • Invisible Guest (Secret Shopper) program of 85% every week
  • Achieve labour target set by operations
  • Achieve beverage target set by operations
  • FoH turnover less than 20% quarterly
  • Training and Development for all staff - depth and succession planning

 

Competencies

  • Beverage management (ordering, receiving, invoice management, supplier management)
  • Beverage software expertise (working within our different systems to stay 100% accurate)
  • Knowledge of all beverage products in entire venue. Equivalent of WSET level 2 in wine/spirits.
  • An ability to lead, train and inspire on all beverage products
  • Ability to operate and work the bar
  • Sequence of service mastery
  • Managing all services, open to close, including breaks and opportunities for staff.
  • Food product knowledge, dietary/allergy expertise, training guides up to date
  • Cleanliness of venue at a high standard, as directed by operations
  • Ability to train and develop all staff
  • Venue maintenance and supplier management
  • Costed roster management, financial forecasting, timesheet approval, keeping in touch with current legal requirements for all staff
  • Handover and written communication on payroll/handovers.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skill requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years in a management position
  • Complete and utter passion/obsession for guest experience
  • Strong leadership skills, personnel management, communication.
  • Exemplary service standard in the dining room
  • Food knowledge and an understanding of how kitchens operate
  • Beverage knowledge, cocktails, beers, wines and everything in between.
  • Ability to achieve targets and work with operations to ensure ongoing profitable business management
  • Organisational skills, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving (both on the floor and off)
  • Understanding and ability to adapt to online software for invoice management, rosters, spreadsheets and more
  • Consistently positive and motivated attitude
