JOB DESCRIPTION

Waymark Hotels is an Australian privately-owned hotel group that operates throughout regional Queensland. We are known for operating venues that specialise in high-quality affordable dining, state of the art gaming facilities, action packed sport, TAB and KENO facilities, relaxed and friendly bars, local and international entertainment and laid back lounge areas, all with a family friendly environment.

Waymark are currently looking for some adventure loving Head Chefs to take on a relocation opportunity and join us in regional Queensland!

Whether you are interested in experiencing the beauty of Cape York, the Gemfields of the Central Highlands or the small country towns within the Darling Downs, we have a position for you.

  • Club Hotel & Commercial Hotel in Chinchilla
  • Albatross Bay Resort in Weipa

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Head Chef
Sous chef

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Certificate III or above in commercial cookery or equivalent 
  • A passion for industry
  • A sense of adventure!
  • Kitchen management experience in a high-volume food, bar, function environment - minimum 3 years full time
  • Strong leadership, training and motivational skills
  • High standard of personal presentation & hygiene
  • Experience in stock control and ordering, with budgeting in mind
  • Available to work hospitality hours
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage conflict, remain calm under pressure and work unsupervised
