5 Habits to Become Successful
What is success and how do we achieve it? That is a huge question and not one we embark to answer for you today, no thanks! Success looks different to everyone and we’re not here to tell you how to live your life. HOWEVER, what we are here to do is support you in growing and become your best self. And with that, we present to you our top tips to set yourself up for success – whatever that may look like for you!
1. Set some killer long-term and short-term goals
Goals are a super strong way to make sure you kick butt in whatever you consider success. The best way to manage your goals and keep them achievable is to set some short-term goals and some long-term goals. This might mean in the short-term, you want to save $10 a week for 1 month – a great way to build a habit, as we know that habits are built in as little as 18 days. However, your long-term goal may be to save $800 in a year. This means you’ll have to revise your short-term goals regularly to hit that long-term goal in the end!
2. Give yourself time to rest
Burnout is real people! Like, really real. Select a day (or even one morning or afternoon) each week to hit refresh on your ‘for you page’ irl. Get up and go for a walk, clean your room, make a yummy meal, spend quality time with those you love – whatever gets you going and allows you to mentally start over fresh.
3. Stop wasting time
This does not mean stop enjoying yourself or participating in chilled out activities that make you happy. We genuinely mean this, watching Netflix to unwind is not wasting time! What is wasting time is distracting yourself with Netflix when you should be doing something else. If there’s a new season of your favourite show on Netflix, put it in your schedule! That’s important me-time, and making time for it will allow you to get everything done and enjoy your time alone even more!
4. Health is wealth
A healthy body is a healthy mind! Keep yourself on track for success by moving your body in some way every day. Just walking the dog or stretching before bed is a great way to maintain an active lifestyle in a way that you can actually keep up. Moving your body will keep you motivated to achieve success in every area of your life and is a tried and true part of most successful peoples’ lifestyle.
5. Celebrate and reflect
So many times we’re caught up in our routines and fail to stop to celebrate the amazing things we achieve. Stop and think about what you’re achieving and how you’re working every day to get it! If you’re getting off track, revise your goals and try again, there’s no right or wrong way to slay the day away.
