Using Monin Syrups to Put a Savoury Spin on Your Cocktails

As we head away from summer months, sweet and sugary cocktail menus can seem a little 'out of season' so how can you mix things up on your menu by incorporating some more wintery flavours and spices?
It’s almost impossible to make a completely savoury cocktail. Alcohol inherently has sugar in it, and you need a little bit of sweetness to balance the flavours. Beverage innovators suggest using a simple syrup such as MONIN Cinnamon syrup or MONIN Vanilla syrup and adding unexpected spices, like garlic, onion powders or pepper, to create a bursy of savoury flavour.

Ingredients:
- 15ml MONIN Cinnamon syrup
- 15ml MONIN Habanero Lime concentrate
- 120ml yellow tomato juice
- 1 dash Worchestershire sauce
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
Suggested Garnish:
- Rosemary
- Tomatoes
Preparation:
- Add all ingredients into a shaker.
- Add ice and shake well to combine.
- Strain into a glass filled with ice.
- Garnish to serve.
